I have experience teaching children of all ages from 0-18 years old. I can support families through the college application process, international school application process, and the preschool application process. I am a graduate of Waseda University and have since worked with many families to support their child's bilingual education.  I am a published writer in the field of bilingualism and when I am not teaching I spend my time researching bilingualism, working with schools to perfect their curricula, writing articles, and giving seminars to parents on raising children bilingually.

My name is Jacob Brennan. I am a native English speaker with over 5 years of experience as an academic tutor, language instructor, and outdoor adventure guide! In 2022, I received a bachelor's degree in Japanese Language from the University of Utah. Having lived in three different countries—America, Japan, and Israel—I understand the challenges and importance of effective communication in a second language. I completed my undergraduate degree at Waseda University, and later earned a Master's degree from the University of Southern California in 2022. I am bilingual in English and Mandarin, with limited proficiency in Japanese. My experience includes teaching academic and communicative English to students ranging from 5th grade to adult learners. As someone who learned English as a second language, achieved high scores in language ability tests, and now uses it as my primary language, I have a unique perspective on the challenges students face. I understand their struggles in achieving high test scores, as well as using English as a functional tool in a foreign country. My journey has equipped me with effective strategies and insights, and I'm happy to share them with my students!
